- Observe the litter for at least a half hour
- ask lots of questions
- view and interact with the canine parents
- interrogate the breeder
So we met with the breeder on a cold snowy night, took one look at the little black wiggling bundle and paid the money.
Yes we did everything wrong but still ended up with the most delightful perfect little puppy. Maybe we were just lucky.

I also just recently got a new puppy. She is wonderful but also alot of work. We've gone through 6 beds already-- she's chewed them all apart!!
